Abi Hall

Having trained as a printmaker at Glasgow School of Art I subsequently enjoyed a career as an interior designer until 2012. Since that time I have been working as a freelance illustrator and surface pattern designer. Through the Pink Light Design agency in Seattle I license artwork for children and adults across a wide range of products; from printed textiles for Moda fabrics, to back-to-school stationery for Walmart and Target stores. I also work on freelance illustration and design projects, including an activity and sticker book for Parragon publishers, and have recently set up an Etsy shop where I sell prints and posters for children’s rooms.

I have a genuine passion for designing and illustrating for children. I try to instil all my drawings with a sense of narrative that will fire kids imaginations, engage them with the characters that I create, and inspire them to build their own stories around the illustration. I am also a big fan of hand-lettering, and I enjoy incorporating words and letters into my work in order to create art that is both educational and fun.
