Illustrators Ireland is a non-profit organisation that supports the development of Illustration in Ireland by showcasing the work of our members and fostering links with similar organisations at home and abroad. As a professional organisation we aim to raise the profile of Irish illustration as a dynamic and cutting edge art form, as well as promoting the work and skills of our individual members.

Members

Illustrators Ireland’s membership is a mix of established, high profile illustrators, and up-and-coming talent, producing work for fields as diverse as editorial, advertising, animation, storyboards, packaging, street art, graphic novels and childrens’ books, as well as their own personal projects.

The quality of members work has been recognised by awards both in Ireland and on the world stage, including from the AOI (UK), Communication Arts, 3x3 and Creative Quarterly, ICAD, CILIP, the Society of News Design and the Society of Illustrators (US).

Brian Fitzgerald

Brian Fitzgerald is based in Dublin, Ireland.

He uses bold textured illustrations and strong graphic compositions to define and communicate.

He has collaborated in newspapers and magazines: The Wall Street Journal, Experience Life magazine, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Hotelier Magazine, Caterer & Hotelkeeper, The Irish Times, The Boston Globe. Brian was shortlisted for the Applied Arts 3rd Annual AACE Awards for his Illustration for Irish Times review of John Boyne’s award winning war story Rest Day. His illustrations also appear in advertising and animations.

Brian also illustrates and designs Children’s picture books. His books are published by many International publishing houses: Blue Apple Books New Jersey, Carthusia Books Italy, Les apprentis réveurs France, Usborne Publishing UK, An Gúm, & Futa Fata Ireland. In 2014 Brian was the winner of the International Silent Book Competition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy. His winning book ‘Bounce Bounce’ was Published by Carthusia Publishing and his work was exhibited in Montereggio di Mulazzo and Credito Valtellinese Foundation Art Gallery Milan. In 2016 Brian was selected as one of the judges for the International Silent Book Competition. In New Jersey he has collaborated with Publishers Blue Apple Books and 3-time Emmy award winning singers ‘The Texas Tenors’ to produce the popular ‘Ruckus on the Ranch’ children’s picture book and CD.The book received a Burgess Award in 2015.
