Sheena Dempsey

I am an illustrator and children’s author from Cork living in London. I came here to study for an MA in illustration in 2010 and since then I have worked with various publishers in the UK and in Ireland i.e. Andersen Press, Walker Books, Templar Publishing, Little Island, An Gúm, Faber and Faber and Barrington Stoke. My newest picture book “Yoga Babies” will publish on 7th September (written by Fearne Cotton). A recent fiction title I illustrated “Dave Pigeon” (written by Swapna Haddow) was shortlisted for the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award 2016 and won the North Somerset Teacher’s Book Awards 2016.  Last year I was the illustrator of “The Lost Smile” (written by Joseph Coelho), a picture book commission for an advertising campaign for Wrigley’s Chewing Gum. The strengths of my work are character, humour and colour.
