Ways of Seeing | The Art of Visual Storytelling

Martin Salisbury and Morag Styles take picturebooks to task in Children's Picturebooks: The Art of Visual Storytelling

Martin Salisbury has been synonymous with picturebooks for as long as I can remember. Together with Morag Styles, Salisbury has created a book that "fills, not just one gap, but countless gaps. In fewer than 200 pages, it conveys a wealth of information about more or less all aspects of picturebooks. Laid out in a seven sections, its organisation is clear and concise."

Children's Picturebooks: The Art of Visual Storytelling asseses the aesthetics of where picturebooks are (and how it got there) alongside acting as a practical how-to-guide on coming up with, producing, publishing, selling, marketing and reviewing a picturebook. Not to be missed.

You can read more about The Art of Visual Storytelling in Inis or you can stop dilly-dallying and go buy a copy!
