Life Drawing Exhibition 2007

The Thursday Life Drawing Group held their annual exhibition in The United Arts Club on Thursday 24th May 2007. The show was opened by Johnnie McCoy the clubs Arts Convenor and also by Ciaran Bennett, Art Critic and President of The International Association of Art Critics- Ireland (AICA).
There was work displayed by IGI members PJ Lynch, Joven Kerekes, Steve Doogan, Padhraig Nolan, Oisin Roche, Paul Stewart, Mierzey, and Brian Gallagher.
As the exhibition’s title would suggest, work shown was all done from the model but with much variation in styles, medium and treatment. As well as work by illustrators from the IGI there were also some very acclaimed Irish Fine Artists included in the display. This is one of the interesting things about the group that meet each week, the blurring of perceived boundaries between differing strands in the visual arts.
As usual there was a great turn out for the opening with plenty of sales on the night. The show continues till the 9th of June and can be viewed from 5pm each evening.
