Illustrators Ireland Awards 2005

On Friday, December 16th 2005, the Illustrators Guild of Ireland held their fourth IllustratorsIreland.com Annual Awards in the United Arts Club, Dublin. It was a fantastic evening with a really good turn out.

Once again, the results show that quality, hand-made imagery is the order of the day. Illustrations portray a very human element in designs, thus engaging the viewer and bringing them into another world. View the winners…

Helen Cooper Talk

As part of Children’s Book Festival, Dublin City Libraries is hosting a talk by author and illustrator Helen Cooper.

Helen, who has won the Kate Greenaway medal for The Baby who Wouldn’t Go to Bed and Pumpkin Soup, will give a talk to illustrators, teachers and librarians on Thursday 20th October at 6.30 p.m. in Pearse St. Library. Booking is essential. Please phone 01 674 4888.

EP Jacobs Talk and Exhibition

There will be a talkon the late, great Belgian Graphic Novelist EP Jacobs on Wednesday 16 March 2005 at 8pm given by Viviane Quittelier (grand-daugther of EP Jacobs) on his life and work (the talk will be given in French but should easy enough to follow, especially for those whose profession is illustrator).

The talk will open an exhibition of approximately 20 original drawings from the series Blake & Mortimer that runs from 16 March until 5 April 2005, in Alliance Francaise, 1 Kildare St, Dublin 2.
