DEBBIE JENKINSON is a cartoonist from Dublin. Her comics explore the small triumphs and frustrations of ordinary life, like Remorse, a long comic about a girl who gets trapped in a call centre job for ten years. Ghosting, a graphic thriller set on public transport, won the Irish Comic News Awards’ OVERALL BEST IRISH COMIC 2020 and made The Irish Times’ Best Graphic Novel of 2021 list. Her next comic Midlands, about a homesick pharmacist living in small-town Ireland, was listed in the Best of 2023 in The Irish Examiner.
She’s provided illustrations and comics for many clients, most recently the HSE, and performed her work live at Electric Picnic and the Bram Stoker Festival. She is co-founder of The Comics Lab, promotions officer for Illustrators Ireland, and a member of the The Dublin Comic Arts Festival committee.
