Illustrators Ireland Board Meeting September 2024

Our volunteer Board of Directors meet up monthly to plan ahead for projects and events like exhibitions, residencies and membership meetups.

In September, the Board of Directors met in Dublin to discuss all things art, illustration and coming group exhibitions and membership events.

With the support of our members and volunteer board of directors, Illustrators Ireland was involved in the following projects to name a few:

–  In Memory of the Future, Group Exhibition, DLRLexicon, Dublin.

–  In Memory of the Future, Group Exhibition, Culturlann, Belfast.

– Collaboration with Alliance Francais – Comics Festival, Dublin.

– Welcomings, Group exhibition, Garter Lane, Waterford.

– Participated and promoted members’ work at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Bologna, Italy.

– Participated in BIB, Bratislava (Biannual event 2023 – 2024).

– Organised Illustrators residencies at Tyrone Guthrie Centre.

– Membership meetups (Summer & Winter).

– Meeting NCAD to talk about the illustration industry and recent projects.

– Promoted our member’s work at events, and online leading to work opportunities.

– Live online members’ interviews to inform about illustration as an art form.

– Liasing with EIF, The European Illustrators Forum.

– Facilitated a talk on Copyright.

– Managing all aspects of the day to day running of the organisation.

– Advocated for illustrators rights and fair work conditions.

– Developed policy and governance documents for Illustrators Ireland governance.

– Documented our members work via a new annual publication.
