Illustrators Ireland promotes Irish illustration at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2024

Bologna Children's Book Fair

Connecting Irish Illustration with publishers, agents and creating opportunities to promote our member's work.

Recently, Illustrators Ireland headed to the yearly Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy, where the whole publishing industry participates. For the last couple of years Illustrators Ireland has organized a promotional pack showcasing illustrated bookmarks and posters from our members to the international publishing industry. Many of our members have received attention and work opportunities from the promotion. At the fair 2024, Illustrators Ireland board members, Margaret Anne Suggs, Una Woods and Tatyana Feeney visited the fair (together with some of our members) and met with art galleries to explore the opportunities to hold an Illustrator Ireland exhibition in Bologna at the same time as the fair. They also promoted our participating members who illustrated a bookmark, and distributed the promotional material to publishers.

Illustrators Ireland’s representatives were joined at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2024, by Children’s Books Ireland, The Irish Ambassador, publishers, authors and illustrators. Thank You to Culture Ireland for supporting Illustrators Ireland’s work in Bologna 2024.

We wish all our participating members many creative work opportunities ahead and that the publishers, agents and other stakeholders will discover the great talent of our members. Illustrators Ireland is looking forward to presenting and promoting Irish Illustration again at the next fair.
